I've just purchased a Pocket WiFi device 4G from Vodafone and now can't send emails.
Outlook for Mac 2010
5 email accounts that I manage through Outlook
On my home Telstra cable network I use the following settings:
Outgoing server - mail.bigpond.com
When I connect to the Vodafone 4G network emails won't send and I get the following message: "An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic. Error code: -3259"
I have tried the following:
Overriding the default port from 25 to 465
Changed the outgoing mail server to mail.vodafone.net.au
This does not work. Still can't send email.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
Seems to have solved the problem. It would appear that when I shift from Bigpond cable to Vodafone mifi I need to edit each email account to change the outgoing server address and authentication method - tedious, but I guess thats the drawback with POP3...
