prepaid add favourites data pack

Message 1 of 9 (1,366 Views)

I have been trying to add a $8 Favourites data pack to my prepaid phone and have been going around in circles. I have sent a text numerous times to 126612 which replies with a link that takes me to a page "not found'. I have rung 1555 numerous times and they have told me among other things (none of which have worked) to register through vodafone central, when I go to Vodafone central it tells me to text 126612 or phone 1555 or visit a store. I have visited 2 vodafone stores which could not help me, called 1555 numerous time and they could not help me. Could you please advise how I can add this data pack.

Thanks

Hi Casey - try this:

MyVodafone for iPhone users

http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/vodafone-central/iphone-android/

You can add i.vodafone.com.au to your iPhone® home screen with the following steps:

  • Enter i.vodafone.com.au into your iPhone® browser's address bar at the top of the page, then tap the Go button.   Tap the '+' symbol on the bottom of the screen
  • Tap 'Add to the Home Screen'
  • Set the name for the link as i.vodafone.com.au
  • Tap 'Add' on the top right corner.
  • You'll now have an icon on your iPhone – tap this once to open i.vodafone.com.au

Then you should be able to add Mobile Internet Packs to your heart's content.

Thanks. I have that app on my phone already but when I try to log in it says 'Prepay accounts are not supported by this app. Please use our self service mobile site'.  When I log in on the selfserve site I can't see anything about data packs.

Hi Casey,

It sounds like you've been doing some running around to try and get this fixed, I can help you add the Favourites pack.

Firstly, can you please go to your Settings from the home screen, then click General > Network > Mobile Data Network. You'll then be able to see your APN (Access Point Name). Can you please make sure the APN says live.vodafone.com? If it's not the correct APN, you can set it up by entering your phone model here, and click 'set up your phone for internet'.

Once you've checked the above, can you please manually enter this link in to your browser? https://three.net.au/VFMarketing/2011Q2/PrepaidPortalPacks. This will allow you to select your Favourites pack as per normal.

Can you please let me know how you go?

Regards,

Sarah.

Hi Casey - note these conditions:

  • The url will only work when on 3G not wifi
  • The url will only work from a mobile device
  • The url will only work when on the VFlive APN - this is the iPhone problem. They originally launched with the VFinternet APN.

The url is: https://three.net.au/VFMarketing/2011Q2/PrepaidPortalPacks

Additional to what Peter mentioned above, can you please make sure you are manually entering the URL (as in typing it in to your browser address bar). Some times there can be issues with the shortened link we send via TXT, so manually typing in the full URL will get round this and allow you to add the data pack.

If you are still facing issues, please let me know. I am here to help.

Cheers,

Nick

A whole bunch of internet, PXT and other Vodafone related settings are contained within the Carrier Settings for your iPhone. As one final troubleshooting step could you try forcing a refresh to these settings? To update these settings plug your phone into iTunes and complete a full back-up and restore. This process will remove all the information from your phone, refresh the software and carrier settings and then put all your info back on. Therefore its incredibly important to ensure your info is backed up correctly if you don't want to lose it - for more information and detailed instructions on backing up your iPhone, just visitthis great Apple article

Once you have done this, please turn the phone off and then back on again and attempt to access that link again. If this still does not work I will definitely need to get a Technician to give you a call and check out what is happening. In this case please shoot me an email using the details that I have sent via PM.

Thank you for being so patient whilst we have gone through the troubleshooting and for being so obliging in completing everything that we, and Peter, have asked. I am confident that we can find out why this is not working and come up with a resolution for you.

Thanks

Millie
