Hey Jacobcheng,
moved from 3 to vodafone , with a new iphone 4s and new microsim...
When did you migrate from 3 to Vodafone? It's always exciting getting a shiny new phone!
Are you experiencing loss of signal in all locations, or just 2040 and 2194? Do you know of other Vodafone users having the same problem in the area? Knowing this will determine whether this is an issue with your service specifically, or an issue in the location itself.
tried resotre iphone a few times ....no fix
It's great that you've already tried some troubleshooting, restoring the phone is a great start and it's unfortunate that it didn't help. Just as another troubleshooting test, can you please switch your iPhone to 2G only? (Settings>General>Network>Enable 3G> OFF). If you don't have the option to do this, I suggest updating your 4S software to the latest version of iOS. Switching your service to 2G will let me know whether the issue is isolated to 3G only.
Let me know how you go with the above.
Regards,
Sarah.

I talked to one of my friend who is also using 4s .... she has same problem ....
she said her husband (who is a apple fan boy) told her ,the problem is from vodafone network ... lol
I chose to set carrier automaticly instead of manual just to ignor the warning , coz automatic would show searching instead of geting a pop up message saying "selected network setting not availble "
and i tried to disable 3g ,,,, looks alright during period of replying this post ...

Hi jacobcheng,
Thanks for the extra information. I'd like to arrange for our network team to contact you and look into why you're experiencing intermittent 3G signal. So I can do this, I'll need you to send me a few more details via email.
I've sent you a private message with my contact details; you can access your private messages here.
Look forward to hearing from you so we can get this fixed up for you!
Thanks, Bart.

Well I'm gunna go with either poor service in your area or massive congestion??
If you want go to this link >>>> Coverage Checker <<<<<<< enter your details and you'll probably have a clearer view of whats going on... If it says you have full 3g coverage just come back and reply to this post and i'll tell you what else could be causing problems

It's great to hear that switching your handset to 2G has given you a stronger signal for your calls and texts.
If you let me know which suburb/post code you are in, I can take check for any outages or works that may be impacting your 3G services.
I'd really like to figure out what has happened for you and see what can be done to get it fixed. Have you been able to use 3G services in that area before or have you just moved into the area?
I'm looking forward to your reply so that I can get this sorted out for you. If you have any other questions in the meantime, please let me know.
Cheers,
-Bruno.
