Hi,
I just filled out the Difficulties form at the Unlocking Tool page.
However, it asked me for a phone number, since I'm in México, and can´t use the Vodafone Signal in here, i just entered the first numbers of the phone number that the iPhone showed in settings.
I also entered my email, so i guess they'll send me a message through it?

I received my iPhone 4S when i bought it online, it came activated on Vodafone UK (That's what it says on Info Screen).
Can i unlock it for use in México within the Unlocking Tool on your website?
What are the steps to do? I get charged something to do that? If so, how can I pay?
Thanks a lot for your prompt answers
Hi Axel.
This is the support page for Vodafone Australia. The phone would be locked specifically to Vodafone UK and our unlocking tools work with phones locked to Vodafone Australia.
I recommend contacting Vodafone UK via one of the methods listed here.
Thanks
Millie

Dear Sir/Madam,
I have exact same issue with above people, i unlocked my phone on vodafone.com.au/unlock on 06/02/2012. And today when I trying to put optus's sim in it, it doesn't work (need to test unlocked or not before oversea trip). I tried to unlock it again online, but i come "IMEI is not found", this is so weired!! as i have just unlocked my phone a few days ago, i saw other people had the same problem on the forum, so it is something to do with vodafone's data system???
Please could someone help me on this issue, i can message you my IMEI.

Hi Mike,
Making sure your handset is unlocked before you head overseas is a really good step, and I can definitely help you out.
What kind of handset is it that you're trying to unlock? The type of handset will have determine what steps need to be taken to unlock the handset.
What happened when you put your unlocking code in the phone the first time, and which SIM card were you using when you entered the unlocking code?
I've included a link for you to our handset unlocking quide, it's got some great information about getting your handset unlocked.
Can you please tell me what happens when you try to use the Optus SIM in your handset?
Cheers,
-Bruno.

Hi there,
I am expereincing the same problem as all the other vodafone customers that have posted here.
I have entered this number into the www.vodafone.com.au/unlock page and get this message:
Customer Action: UNLOCK
Error: The device is owned by a different mobile carrier or could not be marked for unlocking by Apple.
My IMEI is: [personal detail removed]
I have contacted vodafone multiple times and the issue has not been resolved. Please help
Regards,
Brad

Hi Brad,
I can definitely help you with this.

This error is displayed when the phone you are trying to unlock was not sold by Vodafone, so we cannot provide an unlock code.
Did you purchase the phone from Vodafone directly? If you purchased it from another carrier, you'll need to have a chat to them about having your phone unlocked.
If you did purchase the phone from Vodafone, and still cannot unlock it, please fill the handset unlocking difficulties form that you'll be prompted with if an error occurs. This form will be sent straight to our handset unlocking team who will look in to the issue for you.
Regards,
Sarah.

Sarah,
Thanks for the reply, the handset was purchased from Vodafone. I laready filled in the form, once I received the error message. The issue is, I am travelling overseas early tomorrow and I would like to use the handset while I am overseas. SInce the phone is locked to Vodafone, that would not be possible. Also, the form indtaced it will take 4 days to reply and I was hoping to get a response prior to that. Are there anything you can help with?
Thank sin advance
Brad

The fact that you've already filled in the form is great news, that means that we are on the way to getting your handset unlocked for you.
As you're heading overseas and need your phone unlocked in a hurry, I'd like to see what I can do to make sure your phone is ready to use as quickly as possible for you.
I'e sent you a private message with my contact details so that I can get some more information from you and see what needs to be done to get you unlocked. Once I get your reply, I'll give you a call and get this sorted for you.
Cheers,
-Bruno.

Hi
After receiving the info from voda website when I was looking at upgrades, I was told that the iphone4s could be unlocked.
Also that it could be done in a voda shop.
Great I am happy with "that" answer.
As my upgrade is not due for 2 more weeks I could not go ahead at this time.
2 Days later I go into the store at Hartlepool, only to be told Voda won`t unlock an iphone 4s until 12 month after entering into the contract.
Now I am one very unhappy customer!!!!!!!
Imediately going home logging onto the site and asking to cancel my contract as soon as possible!!! 7.7.12 is the earliest date.
Anyway I have stumbled onto this forum when googling so hopefully I get a straight answer and am not told a load of ****. (sorry you can guess I am mad after having 2 phones on contracts with voda for 3 years!!!!)
Anyway the "problem" I have is that I travel to Thailand for a month every year. I need to use local sims (Dtac or 1-2-call)
If I bought a voda contract (or cpw voda contract) what would be my options?
"IF" the phone can be unlocked by voda in the uk, what would happen when I put the Thai sim into the phone then return to the uk?
Would the phone then lock to the Thai sim?
If not when I put the voda sim back into the phone would it lock to voda again????
I really want an iphone but am not starting to think !is it worth all the hassle"
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...
ps (when I emailed the reason why I wanted to leave ie lied to about the unlocking, I was just given the date the phone would be turned off!!!)
Regards
Paul

I appreciate your frustration, as I can understand this must be important to you for travelling reasons.
Are you currently living in Australia or the UK? This is a support page for Australian Vodafone customers and unfortunately I won't be able to assist you with unlocking your iPhone if it's locked to Vodafone UK. As much as I would like to help you, our unlocking tools will not allow me too.
For Vodafone UK support, please click here. I believe once you've had your handset unlocked you will be able to use any SIM card in your phone and it won't lock to the new SIM's network.
I hope this has helped you with you queries. All the best!
Thanks,
Maddie
