No data services - iPhone 3GS

Message 1 of 2 (2,979 Views)
I have an Unlocked iPhone 3GS bought in Australia from Apple that I use in the UK with giffgaff (O2) and Vodafone UK no problems.

The Australian Vodafone prepaid sim allows phone, text & visual voicemail but no data services. If I try to access Internet or email services a message box displays stating I am not subscribed to data services.

The phone is iOS5 and not jail broken etc. the 3G icon is displayed and the Adelaide Vodafone store has tried a sim card swap with no result. The phone was reset and reconnected to iTunes also. The customer care team advised that a Network Settings reset would fix it, it didn't.

Can someone advise potential solutions as this is quite annoying. The Vodafone sim removes the ability to update APN settings also and loads a profile onto the phone that I cannot review.

Any help gratefully appreciated. I know this is not a locked handset issue or similar as I hbe had data services working in Aus, UK and Austria previously.

Thanks,

Tom
