move to vodafone and upgrade

Message 1 of 3 (594 Views)

Hi,

I have been a loyal customer with 3 for around 6 years and am looking to upgrade to a Samsung Galaxy s3. I currently have an iPhone 4 and i think im around 14 months into my 24 month contract.

I'm on a $69 plan but i dont think i have ever had a month when my bill was exactly $69 as i constantly find myself in a roaming zone and get stuck with silly extra data charges even when im in the CBD!

I have noticed recently that instead of saying 3G up the top left on my phone that it just says E. i dont know what network this is but it is very slow! i have to turn my phone on and off several times a day to get back to 3g service. Alot of the times i get SOS only too and thats at my home which is a few km from the CBD so its not as if i am living in rural areas.

My bills are on direct debit so there has never been a problem with paying bills and they have been paid on time for 6 years in a row with not one late fee ever.

Could my account be looked into to see if i can get upgraded as i am thinking of moving to optus or telstra in the hope of getting better netwrok service.

thanks

If you're looking at upgrading your service, there are certainly options available to you.

As a 3 customer, roaming can certainly have an impact on your bill. If you let me know which suburb/post code you're in, I'd really like to check to see what your coverage is like on 3 and what can be done to improve it.

Because 3 and Vodafone use separate networks, migrating your service will often give you much better coverage and remove roaming charges completely (as Vodafone does not currently roam on other networks within Australia).

The E symbol on your phone indicates that you have "edge" (2G) coverage. By switching your phone off and on, you are effectively resetting your network connection, which causes your phone to search for the strongest signal again.

As a valued customer, we would certainly love to see you choose to stay with us. Upgrade eligibility is looked at on an individual basis, so the best thing we can do is get you to speak to one of our migration team members.

I've sent you a private message with my contact details. If you email me with the information that I have requested, I can arrange for a member of the migration team to give you a call at a time that suits you. We can then look at the best option available to you for upgrading your service.

I'm looking forward to your email and to seeing what can be done to get this sorted out for you. In the meantime, please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,

-Bruno.
