Hi al45,

like others, after changing from 3 to VF last week, my web browsing is ridiculously slow. On the plus side, downloads are about 2-3 times faster.

There's nothing from our end that would be causing your downloads to be faster than your surfing, particularly in your area, which has good coverage.

With the new changeover, we've always got to ensure everything is set up correctly to work the way it should. Try deleting and re applying the correct settings for your modem, which you can do so by following the steps, here. If there's any small issues preventing you from surfing at a decent speed, this will hopefully iron them out and get your speeds consistent across the whole board.

Are you able to let me know if you're experiencing these kind of speeds whilst browsing at certain times of the day, or at all times, no matter when you use your service? If you're using a laptop, have you tried connecting in a different part of the house, or in a completely different area? If so, what were the results? Your answers to these questions will be helpful for me to continue assisting you.

Looking forward to speaking with you again.

Kind Regards,

James.

Hi,

My Broadband connection is doing a similar thing - fast downloads but very slow web surfing.

I have an E160G in area 3141. I checked the area for network accces and there is full 850, 2100 3G coverage.

I'm on a Apple Mac, and have tried the laptop with the MBB usb in other geographical regions.

Anyone had any luck solvoing this issue?

Thank you for letting me know some more details around the connectivity issues you've currently been facing. I'm confident working together we will get to the bottom of this.

Your right, our 850MHz frequency is strong in South Yarra (VIC 3141). To get the most out of our 850MHz frequency you will need a device which is compatible and unfortunately the E160G modem you using isn't.

From here I would like to move our conversation to email, as this will allow me to confirm some personal details before accessing your account and this can't be done publicly. Having access to your account will allow me to arrange to send you out an 850MHz compatible device, to test and see if your experience improves.

I want you to get the most out of the network available in your area. If using an 850MHz compatible device provides positive results, than we can look into your options of upgrading to a new device.

I've sent you a personal message advising how and what information to send through. You can access this message by clicking here.

I look forward to your email and investigating this further wit you.

Thanks,
Maddie

I'm confident working together we will get to the bottom this and thank you for completing that quick and easy troubleshooting step, as requested by James.

You mentioned that your currently living in postcode area 3216 and there are a number of suburbs within this area, can you please confirm which suburb are you located in? This information will help me isolate my search, to determine what's happening.

It would be great if you could please place your exact address and device model (E1553) into our online coverage checker here and please let me know, what do you see?

Did you know we have an online postcode checker here that shows any recent upgrades or known issue in your area, that may be impacting your service. I've checked your postcode (3216) and can see we are making planned improvements to our 3G network, that maybe impacting your data service. These upgrades are planned to bring you a stronger, fast and more reliable service.

We try our best to minimise the interruptions caused by work being completed and I apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused you. The improvements in your area are due to be complete by September 7th 2012.

Can you please let me know; do you find that browsing is slow  at all the times or does this only happen at particular times throughout the day?

If you don't see an improvement in your service after the upgrades are complete, than I'll need to move our conversation to email, to further investigate this with you. I've sent you a personal message which you can access by click here, which  advises what information I'll need to confirm before accessing your account.

At the end of the day you deserve to be satisfied with your service and if you have any questions or concerns through this procedure, please let me know.

Thanks,
Maddie

As you are using the use the instructions located on our web page located here and it seems not to be working, would it be possible to grab the script error that you have mentioned.  This way I will be able to have a chat to our technical guys and maybe find a way to get past the error for you.

If need be I can organise one of the team to contact you and I will need to grab some details from you to do this.  I really like to see you being able to use the device as soon as possible.  I have sent you a PM with my contact details and to access your Private Messages please click on this link.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping to get your Novatel XU870 updated with the new settings.

Cheers,

Dana.

Maddie,

Have those upgrade works due to by sep 7th been completed?

My web page loading remains unchanged......painfully slow.

My downloads which were typically 200-300 kb/s (after switch from three) have been around 50kb/s or less for the last few days, even in non peak periods!
