How to set your APN on your iPad 2

For your Apple iPad to successfully connect to the Vodafone network, it must have the correct APN setting. The following table outlines each plan type and the correct APN setting for each.

Instructions for a Prepaid MBB service in an iPad
The majority of iPads will connect automatically to the network. However, if you have a normal Prepaid MBB SIM which has been cut down to fit into your iPad you will need to change the setting manually. Please follow the steps below to connect to the Vodafone network.

Step 1

Select 'Settings' once you see 'vodaAU' appear in the top left of your screen.

Step 2

First select 'Cellular Data' or 'Mobile Data', then select 'APN settings'.

Step 3

Type in vfprepayMBB into the APN field. Then press the home button and your iPad is ready to use on the Vodafone network.

IMPORTANT!

Please note that your APN will default back to the original settings and you will need to repeat the above steps if you:

  • install a major update to the iOS operating system
  • replace the SIM
  • restore the iPad via iTunes
  • reset the iPad

Operating system requirements
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires an Apple ID plus:
Mac: OS X v10.6.8 or later
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
iTunes 10.7 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/au/download)

followed the steps to the letter, still comes up showing no service.

just want to clarify if the APN and settings are exactly the same for setting up internet on an Iphone and an Android smart phone???
