Hi,

I'm about to recharge my prepaid broadband for a trip and trying to decide on an amount, however I can't see that there is any included SMS like there used to be.  Do we still get some included SMS when we top up our prepaid broadband account?  Also, is there a way to purchase credit only for SMS?

We no longer offer the free text option for Pre Paid Mobile Broadband recharges. Please keep an eye out on our webpage here  as our plans, packs and passes are subject to change. If you would like to read the full terms and conditions of the Pre Paid Mobile Broadband Recharges, you can do so online here.

There is no way that you can purchase credit for SMS only on a Mobile Broadband Pre Paid recharge as the recharges are made specifically for data.

It sounds as though you're really wanting to send text messages whilst on your trip, do you have a handset or a current active voice service with Vodafone? If not we can certainly look at getting one ready for your trip if you would like. You can check out the plans and Pre Paid services we have available on our website here simply by selecting Plan, or Pre Paid at the top of the page.

Thanks for getting back to me, even if it wasn't in time for my trip.  I don't take my phone away with me, so I guess I will just do without contacting anyone via SMS for a while.  Thanks again.

Could I ask when your trip is happening? Or have you already returned? Is this an overseas trip, or within Australia?

We have many options available for SMS on your mobile, and we wouldn't want you to go without this function whilst you are travelling. Is there a particular reason you choose not to take your phone with you?
