This may seem like a really DUMB question, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer so here goes:
My daughter has a prepaid sim and is currently in France. What prefixes do I need to use to call/text her from Aus? Also, is there anyway I can confirm that international roaming is working on her phone besides receiving a call/text from her?
Thanks for humouring me ![]()

Hi Peta - if roaming is working as it should be, you simply dial her regular number, no need for country codes. International roaming is the default for prepaid but you can check its status by looking in My Vodafone (or her My Vodafone, if you get what I mean). Log into My Vodafone and click on Manage Roaming Settings.

Hi peta,
the only dumb question is one not asked!, and its not dumb at all, just call you dughter as you normally would, no change need for you to make at all, the network will know she is roaming and route the call accordingly , just be mindful that she will pay to take your call, but not the text. to receive the text is free, if she replies by text it will cost here 75cents.
all roaming info is on the vodafone website here:
http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/international-
also roaming on Vodafone traveller is set up automatically on all prepay accounts, she will need to ensure she has credit all the time she is way however - and can recharge her account by way of credit card using vodafone express, or if a credit card is already registered on her account using the phone or myvodafone.com.au
regards

Hi Peta,
Peter and Grumpyoldgreek have summed it nicely here; just dial as you normally would!
I'll echo Grumpyoldgreek's words also, in that no question is a dumb question. We're here to help!
Thanks, Bart.

Can Someone help me? I am a 3 customer but also have an account with Vodafone. On a recent trip to NZ for business (2 nights) I made 7 phone calls (Avg 1 minute) and received 5 phone calls (Avg 5 minutes) all while I was on the vodafone network. On arrival in NZ I received 2 texts welcoming me to NZ and advising how I can call home and the price of 30 second blocks for calls. Why, if there is a deal for customers travelling to NZ and Sin to pay the same rates as if they were home, would you not proactively suggest in that same text of this deal? $86.60 for 12 calls on the same network, to calls within that network is absolutely rediculous. I had the same issue last year, but am still baffled how you can charge so much when we have not used another network? I have been a customer of 3 for 14 years, and my wife (3/Vodafone) the same. I will not renew any contract with 3/vodafone.
In addition to this the network service we have is average especially in my home, and when I am crossing the Westgate Bridge. WHen I advised the call centre staff they told me they were surprised because you have 850 mghz towers, yada yada yada.
I was sick of the sarcastic tone and asked to end my contract with 6 months remaining, I was advised this can be dione by returning my handset. I suggested if I were to return my handset I would expect a refund on the amount I have paid over the last 18 months on that handset. He advised me he would not accept the handset if it was damaged. Absolutely poor!!! Had enough with the poor attitude, the empty promises, the poor network service and many other things!!
I have lodged trhe issue around the service with the Telecom Ombudsmen and am waiting for a reply from someone.

I always recommend giving us a call before heading overseas, to make sure that roaming is set up correctly for you and to avoid un-necessary roaming charges. Calling us ensures that we can get a good understanding of your needs while travelling and can then recommend the most cost effective solutions for you.
While Vodafone AU and Vodafone NZ are both part of the global Vodafone family, they are completely separate networks.
3 and Vodafone also have separate roaming agreements for customers travelling overseas, so the cost of roaming will vary based on the network you are using. Did you have your 3 SIM or your Vodafone SIM while travelling overseas?

While our coverage maps may indicate that an area has coverage, there are a lot of things that can impact the real-world performance of your service. If you let me know the areas that you are experiencing issues with your service performance, I would be happy to investigate this for you and check for any outages or work that may be impacting your signal.

As you have lodged your enquiry with the TIO, your issue will now be raised to our resolutions team. As part of the resolution process, you will receive a call from a member of our resolutions team within 10 working days of the case being passed on to us from the TIO.
If there is anything else that I can help you with in the meantime, please let me know.
Cheers,
-Bruno.
