Hey there, I have a ideos X3 phone that i purchased when i was in australia on holiday but when i came back to nz my sim card would not work. The problem is this site only accepts australian credit cards to buy the nck code. Is there anyway around this?? Cheers

My sister in law also bought aVodafone prepaid HUAWEI IDEOS X3 mobile phone when she was in Australia two years ago.   When she got back to New Zealand, she couldn't get it to work on the Vodafone network over there, nor could she get it unlocked from the Vodafone network.   She sent the phone to me in Australia in the hope that I can get it unlocked over here and use it for myself.   Could you please let me know if I can get it unlocked and if so, the cheapest way to do it as I am low on funds.

Hey BUCKRAT, visit the unlock page - http://unlock.vodafone.com.au - and enter the phone's IMEI.  That's a 15-digit phone identification number - to get it, enter *#06# on the Ideos keyboard.

Sometimes unlocking is free, sometimes it's not.  Good luck!

Most of our prepaid phones are hard-locked devices, meaning that there is a cost to unlock them. If the phone is more than 6 months old and you unlock it using our online tool, the cost to unlock the phone is $25.00.

If you go to the link the Peter has given you in his post and enter your IMEI, it will ask you to pay the unlocking fee via credit card. Once the payment has been made, you will then be given an unlocking code and the instructions to unlock the device.
