Hi,
I have prepaid SIM{Mobile Number Removed}with activated International Roaming and currently I am overseas (Czech Republic) but the roaming is not working.
I actually CAN RECEIVE SMS and I DO NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS with receiving the signal on my phone (Vodafone CZ). I just cannot make and receive any calls because of SYSTEM ERROR. After trying to make call I receive message from SYS-ALERT: "You are not allowed to make or receive any calls while roaming. Please contact your Service Retailer."
My boyfriend uses Vodafone prepaid SIM card at the same location and the same time like me and he has no problems with making and receiving calls at all. When I put my SIM into his phone, I can connect to Vodafone CZ but I cannot make any calls - it is not working.
Moreover My Vodafone login is not working either. The error message always appears. I applied for phone number transfer before I left Australia and I think that it has not been done properly.
Can anybody help me? I have registered with Vodafone five weeks ago, since that time nothing seems to be working. I wrote about 10 email to Vodafone Support. Outcome of their "investigation" said: "we are not able to help you". WHY?

hmm yea you came to theright place the vodafone reps on the forum are the best.
It may just be that when they set up your roaming they didnt enable phone calls for one reason or another.
Do you have data services???
It may be a phone error or a tower error but my bet is on the phone calls not being active.... How many bars of service do you have???
because sometimes in area's of low service you can send/recive texts but not be able to receive or make phonecalls

Thanks for providing me with such a detailed post. I can imagine it must be very frustrating not being able to make or receive calls while overseas and I'll certainly help you with this.
It's great to hear that you took the initiative to try using your SIM in another phone, as this is certainly the first step I would have asked you to do.
Because you experienced the same difficulties using your SIM in another phone, at this point I would like to confirm some details with you to take a closer look at your account. This will allow me to check the settings and work towards a resolution with you.
I've sent you a personal message advising how and what information to send through. You can access this message by clicking here.

I apologise for any miscommunication there may have been when having this issue investigated and I'm sorry to hear it hasn't yet been resolved.
Exactly what error message are you receiving when attempting to log in to My Vodafone? We have some common login problems and solutions here and once I know the exact error message your getting, I'll be able to supply you with more specific details.
I hope you having a good time overseas. We will get to the bottom of these current issue together and I look forward to your email.
Thanks,
Maddie

Why wouldn't they enable phone calls for any reasons during set up of my roaming?
I explained them my problem about the calls and they replied that everything regarding my international roaming was set up properly.... so I believe so.
I am not sure about data services .... I do not use them. I just want to call and send messages.
It cannot be a phone error. I tryied to use 3 different phones. The same problem always occurs.
I don't have any problems with coverage either. I have full indicator of service - 6 bars.

Switching global roaming on applies to calls as well as TXT and data. There isn't a separate roaming option for calls, so if roaming is switched on, you should be able to make calls. In this case, as you're not able to make calls, I'd like to grab some details from you so I can investigate further. Are you able to email them through to me?
I've sent you a PM with my email address, which you can access by following the link here. If you send me through some details I'll be able to access your account and find a solution for you.
I certainly understand your phone is important to you whilst you're on holiday, so please email your details through so I can investigate.
Thanks,
Nick
