Just bought a TW818 phone watch but it's phone settings are defaulted to a Chinese network. I've inserted my SIM, it's activated, all good so far. However, apparently I need to add my Vodafone data account details but where do I get those? Rang Tech support twice but I got discocnnected twice while on hold Any help would be appreciated!

Ah nice. How is the call quality on those ? My friend bought one of those but he had to use a headset when answering calls then that drained the battery really fast. Anyways if you need to setup Vodafone data ,MMS etc on your new watch phone follow this link :

Hi Cyrille. I'll let you know call quality when it's up and running. Thanks for your post. It increased my knowledge base some but revealed how much I still don't know! I keep plowing. The data account details it's asking are these:
- Account Name
- User name
- Auth. type (Normal or Secure)
- Primary DNS
- Secondary DNS
Does any of this make sense to you??

Yes definitely.Lets see if we can get this up and running for you. I know I wont go to sleep until I get my tech working Do you know if its android based or has it got its own software? I think it must be WAP
-Account name: VF WAP or VF WEB
-APN : live.vodafone.com
-password: ( empty)
-Auth type: Normal
-Primary DNS : 188.8.131.52
-Secondary DNS : 184.108.40.206
If not try the self setup tool here .I know your watch wont be listed but the settings seems non smartphone like so just choose some Nokia handset and select internet .If you enter the number into the portal it should also send you settings which you can then save onto your mobile watch.

Sorry try this for Primary and Secondary DNS respectively :010.202.002.001
It has been ages since I used any of these settings. If these dont work then the VF community team will most certainly get you up and running.

Does "Encoding" under Phone Settings have any relevance to this discussion? It has four options:

I checked one of my older non Vodafone handsets. This is what you need for accessing internet on.
So wait the data settings have nothing to do with you not being able to answer or make calls.Not sure what those four are but I think we dont need to access that. Do you not see those bars with network connection on your watch?

Back to the phone: I have the bars but no access to the Voda network - emergency calls only. That's the issue (I think we were both confused what the issue was - at least I was!).
I'm not too concerned about internet access on this thing. Would be nice bonus but not a deal breaker. It's the calls in and out that matter to me.
I've been on the phone to Voda Tech Support. I think I might also be stumping them with this. Waiting for a call back from them. But I'm all ears to other suggestions.

Not a problem Rev. I think I am learning with you here also.
So do you know what frequency your phone operates ? Cause Vodafone operates 850,900,2100 Mhz frequencies. Can you check if your phone supports these? That could be a reason why. I know these watches are quad band right ? First of all are they unlocked to operate in Australia ?
