Mobile Broadband

Hello,   I have been on the post paid $39 plan for mobile broadband, using the huawei wifi 2 modem for about 3 months.

At first it was perfect, loading sites quickly, download quickly...  However in the last 8 weeks (roughly) the page load time has become almost a minute (for every page).  I have tried two alternative devices (my laptop is an sus n53sv) to my laptop (which were both smart phones) and have also tried it on another laptop.

My speedtest nets me 2-3mbps.  I have been on the phone off and on for 2 weeks, and they kept escalating and de-escalating my case (they were meant to call me back at 5pm and kept calling at lunch time, which i could not answer, and ended in them de-escalating it).

I have also tried a new sim card, disabling my antivirus, pressing the reset button (which they didn't suggest but I saw mentioned) and 3 other browsers.  as well as a few settings I tried over the phone (including selecting 3g only, etc)  on the speedtest.net site galaxy s2 got 5mbps download, huawei only 3mbps...  Takes me 40 seconds to refresh this page

Basically vodafone staff I was talking to said that although the web pages take a long time, because the download speed is fine then my service is fine... I use it to browse though, so clearly this is not the case.

Is there anything else I can try???  I was going to cancel it but thought I may as well try post up here, I have not been able to find anyone else with the same problem.

I feel like vodafone really hasn't had me trouble shoot much at all, was amazed how quickly they gave up?

Any other Vodafone users identified the same issues?:  No?


Part B:

Mobile Device in use: Huawei E585

Device used for isolation test: Samsung Galaxy S2, have also tried a new sim.  

How long have you had the device? :  3 months

Any other comments:   Download speed is fast, page loading is horribly slow, I have also tried a new sim card, disabling my antivirus, pressing the reset button (which they didn't suggest but I saw mentioned) and 3 other browsers, as well as settings in the modem i tried over phone.

HMMMM how very odd.. very odd indeed...i cant figure out why its not working... hmm maybe pocket wifi isnt routing properly..

Have you tried taking it in to a  vodafone store to have it checked/serviced???

Maybe just maybe its faulty hardware

Hey mate, I've tried on my galaxy s2 and it's same story, download speed is fine (5mbps) but the time it takes to load a page is ages...  (used the galaxy s2, with vodafone sim, to usb tether)

HMMMMMM this is crazy odd.... when using speedtest.net whats your ping ms??

about 40-60 ms (and xbox live etc runs fine too, i.e. cod)

wow yea thats a pretty decent ping its about the same as mine.... hmmmmm so very odd...  ok i now this is probably a stupid question but whats your up speed

um on the huawei it's about 3mbps on the s2 about 2mbps

Ok this is crazy haha.. why wont it load hmmmmm.... and COD works fine.. HMMMMM and you've tried different browsers (kudos for that btw)

and you tried different laptop also a great idea...
