Where I live I have an alright signal with the pocket wifi using a vodafone prepaid sim, however I regularly have to travel to an area where the signal is not great. With other mobile broadband deals (like virgin or dodo), while the signal for them is not great where I live, the signal is better where I travel to.
I was wondering if it would be possible to use another sim like virgin in the pocket wifi for when I need to travel to the area where the vodafone signal is poor.
Thanks

Yes, the Pocket Wifi works really well with SIM cards from other providers if it's been unlocked from Vodafone.
Check the lock status on this page: vodafone.com.au/unlock
You'll also need to set the APN for the carrier you choose; you can easily get that information online.
Which version Pocket Wifi do you have - 1 or 2? Version 1 covers 900 and 2100 MHz, whereas version 2 covers 850, 900 and 2100 MHz. Telstra uses 850/2100 MHz, Vodafone 850/900/2100 MHz and Optus 900/2100 MHz..
Good luck.

Hi jg234,
Peter has provided some very sound advice above.
All you need to do is make sure it is unlocked here and you'll be able to use other sim cards in the device.
The IMEI number should be on the device itself.
Please let us know if you need any more help or have other queries.
Thanks,
