Ho Ho Ho Voda Online,
I have a pocket wifi which i bought with 3 for my wireless account.
And now that the broadband acct has been migrated to Voda, i'm not able to use the pocket wifi with the voda SIM.
How do i proceed to unlock this device.
Appreciate some advice.
Cheers.

Hi Bruvi
Proceed to Three's unlock page and enter your IMEI. If it's in the database, the options are unlock for free, or possibly a fee. If it's not in the database, fill in the form and wait a few days.
As you're transferring from Three to Vodafone, you'd expect any fee to be waived - definitely ask.
You may need to enter the APN for Vodafone. Is it prepaid or contract? The APN will be different.

Hi Peter,
I tried using the 3 unlock link but it gives an rror.
What can i do.
The Imei no is 352398040596456.
I was originally bought as a prepaid but sim was changed to 3 postpaid line.
Appreciate any advice.

Hi
I entered your IMEI on both the Vodafone & Three unlock pages. They both recognise the number - it's in their database - but request a $99 unlocking fee. That doesn't seem right if you've already used the modem with Three postpaid and then transferred to Vodafone.
One of the Vodafone reps on this forum should be able to help you - I don't have access to that kind of thing.
Which model Pocket Wifi is it?
One thing that puzzles me is that I get a different outcome running my Pocket Wifi IMEI through the unlock page.
YOUR IMEI
Service Fee:$0.00
New Phone:$99.00
Online discount*:$0.00 -
Total:$99.00
MY IMEI
Service Fee:$50.00
New Phone:$50.00
Online discount*:$25.00 -
Total:$75.00

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your reply.
When i tried it last night it gave me the error.
But just tried it again and shows the $99.
Will talk to the voda team, as was informed when i moved all my 3 services to voda.
They will unlock my phones and pocket wifi free.
Anyway mine's a Pocket WiFi E65.
Thanks for the help.
Will wait for the online team to get back to me.
Cheers.

Hi Bruvi,
I would love to take a look into this for you, however, I will require some personal information to gain access to your account so I am able to investigate this further for you. I have sent you a Private Message with my email contact details for you to forward your account information to. Please note that I am unable to provide support through PM and will wait for your email.
Thanks,
Cait

My wife and I have just arrived home from Aussie and we purchased one of these Huawei E585 2 pocket wifi's. It worked a treat in Oz however what really annoys me is when I popped the question to the salesman in the Melbourne store about can this device be used back in NZ he replied yeah sure just swap the sim cards over and your good to go. Ahhhhhhh Nahhhhh. Found out when we got home that the device has to be unlocked and it costs you. Not very happy hearing that. Rang the company in NZ that Vodafone NZ uses and they tell me that the unlocking code has to come from Aussie. That's just great then aye? Considering I'm not in Aussie anymore. It would be really nice if somebody from Vodafone Aussie contacted me and they came to the party to rectify their stuff up.
Hi - it's not really a stuffup because a lot of phones & wifi modems on sale here are locked, unlike New Zealand.
You may strike it lucky with your pocket wifi and unlock it for free. Put the IMEI into the box on the Vodafone AU unlock page and see.
