HI Kristy,
What's happened to this Vodafone(VF) network that suppose to be excellent, its worst than dial up download speed 20 years ago, there's VF people all over Australia having the same slow download speeds.
I think there's been a stuff up with the new network, its FAILED and not what they expected it too be.
The 3 network I was on up to a month ago was good and would of stayed with them, but was kept getting asked to move to Vodafone, what a stuff up from the head of Vodafone to do this, VF is going to loose all the 3 customers that have came over to VF and VF customers as well, they should of left all the 3 customers on 3 until VF was up running properly.
I'm on the process on going with Telstra as I run a small business at home and are also very frustrated with slow download speeds and half the time wont load a page.
Its not good for a business like this to be known and be nick named VodaFAIL.
Why doesn't Vodafones Help and Support team just tell us customers that the network has failed with CONGESTION, instead of giving us the run-around, as i was for a month, taking many hours of my time with checking the computer and settings ,sim card, modem, etc. When it wasnt any of these things, and at the end, its the network failing from Congestion, as i see many other customers are having the same problem on this site and others.

There are some changes currently underway, that means 3 customers will also be utilising the Vodafone network. Some states have already made the switch, and others will be soon. Check out our website, here, for more information.
Ultimately, if you're not happy with your mobile service, or you notice a decline in performance, we want to know about it.
At this stage I know that myself and the rest of the team have been helping you to find a solution to your issues via email. If you have any questions or concerns around any of the offers we've made via email, please don't hesitate to send us another email letting us know.
Thanks,
Nick

I signed up today just to voice my displeasure into being unwillingly forced from the 3 network to Vodaphone. I have a mobile breoadband device from 3 that has been working great for 3 years but after the changeover to Vodaphone download speeds have just about stalled. Just getting onto a normal web page via the browser takes 5 minutes, then another few minutes for everything to be fully visible. I have now fully updated all software and have removed all the add-ons from my browser yet the speed has not increased. According to the coverage map for Wollongong I am in a good coverage area. I'm lucky my 12 month renewable subscription will expire soon and I would never even consider a Vodaphone product of any kind, also I will be letting associates and friends know of the poor speeds. Eventually it will hurt their bottom line and that's when they'll address the issue rather than sort the issue out now. It's definitely their issue (Vodaphone) but getting them to accept that will be difficult. Goodbye Vodaphone!

After 2 months of very slow frustrating download speed with Vodafone and the techs wasting my time for 5 weeks trouble shooting/telling me the problem is on my end that's causing slow speeds, but all of use customers now know that its the Vodafone Networks the problem, but they wont admit it, its failed!!!!
But I've finally fixed the slow download speed and have finally got back to the land of the living with fast download speed,
wait for it, wait for it, joined Telstra Bigpond !!!!!!!!

I'm glad you've signed up for our Community and given me this opportunity to fix the issues you've been having with your service since the switch. It's great that you've checked the coverage map to see what sort of coverage you can expect at your location in Wollongong.
I can see we're rolling out upgrades around Kembla Heights, and from Figtree to Berkley in the next three months. If you're located in one of these areas you will notice an improvement when the upgrades complete. You're able to check for the latest upgrade information on our website here.
I've also noticed that 850MHz is stronger in a lot of areas in the Wollongong region. Is your device compatible with our 850MHz network? If you're not sure how to check that, just let me know the device you're using and I will be happy to confirm.
You've mentioned you've only had issues since the switch - have you followed the instructions online here to configure your modem for use with the Vodafone network?
It's great that you've been happy with your 3 service for the past 3 years - I'm confident we will be able to work together to resolve any issues you're having, so you can continue on as a valued 3 customer.
Thanks,
Kirsty.

Hi Kirsty,
I know you are doing your job and it's not your fault that many people here have problems. It's great to be enthusiastic and offer assistance to many of us but we are only human and as the saying goes once bitten twice shy. I also have Blink and Telstra mobile BB used in the same area by family members and they are all blisteringly fast compared to the vodaphone service. Although trying to assist ex-3 customers is commendable you will find once we have been burnt by a forced switch to another carrier most are unlikely ever to consider them as it's just too much work trying to figure out why, why, why? I've been spending time and money in the last few weeks upgrading my system, upgrading software and general laptop maintenance, all to no avail, then having been totally frustrated checked out the internet only to find that many hundreds are in the same boat. My prepaid expires in a few months so I'm not greatly affected so I'm really lucky I can just throw my old Mobile breoadband away and switch carriers. To answer your question yes I have followed the instructions as emailed by vodaphone link, I registered on the recommended network. My old 3 Prepaid is an E1553, I don't know how to switch to the 850MHz network? If you can send instructions I'm prepared to have a go as I have nothing to loose at this point.

I understand that you are keen to be able to use the internet as it was intended, and I will absolutely do my best to ensure that this is possible for you.

Your modem (E1553) is 850MHz compatible, so you should be connection to the strongest signal in your location. I'd like to run through some isolation test with you to try and find the cause of the problem.
Do you have another phone or device that you're able to pop your SIM card in to, and use the internet? Do you notice an improvement in internet speed? If you do, there may be an issue with your modem.
From here, I suggest popping in to your local Vodafone store and see if they are able to replace your broadband modem with a Vodafone device. This way all settings will be correct, and it is not likely that the modem will be at fault. If they are able to do this for you, you'll also receive a new SIM card which will eliminate any faults with your old 3 SIM card. You can find your nearest 3/Vodafone store here.
If you're unable to get your device swapped in store, please let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.
Regards,
Sarah.

It's quite simple really:
No doubt there is fine print to keep us all dumbed down... but I see this as a broken contract
I will simply never use Vodafone again.
Simple
PS - even this form took 3 attempts to submit - they make everything so hard...

Hi there,
I was a very happy 3 mobile broadband user, I am now a very unhappy Vodaphone broadband user. I do not have the option of fixed line broadband where I live. I have had to resort back to dial up which is actually faster than Vodaphone broadband.
I am looking in to going over to Telstra broadband through my mobile phone but I think this means I need to buy a new phone.
I have called the vodaphone helpdesk and all of my settings are correct. Helpdesk was helpful and double checked my settings.
Not happy with vodaphone speed at all.
If you are reading this forum as I did to find out why Vodaphone is so slow do yourself a favour and go back to dial up or look at other service providers.
Please switch back on the 3 network towers and service or you will loose yet another customer.
