Once again there appears to be issues with the mobile broadband at Miranda.
When will the connectivity issues, poor speeds and poor service be rectified.
Currently have been told that it may take upwards of 3 months before issues are "sorted" - thankyou, have tried setting the modem up near a window, spinning it around, standing on my head with a potato balanced on left foot etc etc to get it to work. And YES the matter has been " escalated" for several months.
Some good examples of the speeds achievable between 5.30am and midnight are -
download upload
0.16mbs 0.52mbs
0.80mbs 0.83mbs
0.21mbs 0.34mbs
THAT IS if you connect at all, so far have wasted 45minutes trying to get a connection that would last more than 1 minute, AND all that living within 3 minutes walk of the vodafone store in Miranda Fair.
Can you also tell me why i was sent the new "mega modem"? It does not work with android devices (it isnt plug and play).
Cheers
Matthew

Hi Matthew,
Thanks for posting. I'm sorry that you have been experiencing continuous issues with your Mobile Broadband service in Miranda. I can certainly understand your frustration especially if you are not able to use your modem to your requirements.
I can confirm updates to our Network in your area have been scheduled for July this year. The Mega Modem provided to you is to enable your service to use the benefits of these upgrades. Is the current modem you are using a USB or Pocket WIFI modem?
Thanks
Alana.

Unfortunatly i have both modems, the pocket wifi and the new "mega modem", both of which do not work.
So the upgrades are scheduled for July. A different story when i talked to the "help desk" again for the 37th time in 3 months. According to the help desk, the scheduled upgrades "might/may" be completed by end of August/half way through September.
This may be good, but after having the service for approximatly 6 months and for at least 3 of those months no service/poor connection/slow downloads etc it isnt good enough.
Also regarding the "mega modem", can you explain to me why this device is not able to be used on android based tablets? I initially purchased the pocket wifi so i could "easily connect" to the windows based and android devices i currently use daily. After recieving the mega modem, and explaining the issues to the help desk, i was told "that was the way it is", it appears to be a pretty useless device, along with the service.
Please do not tell me try using in different rooms etc, it has all been done, along with changing locations. Mind you the device works perfectly good if i want to sit in the middle of Miranda Fair or use it between the hours of 1am and 6.30am (sort of impracticle)
oh yeah and as a side note the issue has been escalated to the network team at least 6 times.
still waiting. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Hi mingnon,
You can view our completed and scheduled network upgrades for NSW on our Network Status Page here:
We have new 850MHz towers planned for Como, Sylvania Waters and other areas which will provide 850Mhz coverage for your area. These upgrades are scheduled for June, you can view these details on our Status Page also.
In regards to using your Mega Modem with your Android tablet, what specific issue are you having?
If it is an issue with the device not having a USB connection, you can use a Sharing Dock to share your connection, and connect your Tablet over Wi-Fi (much like the Pocket Wi-Fi device). You can find information on the Sharing Dock here.
Please let me know if I can help further.
Thanks
Kate

Just moved to Miranda myself and i thought Cronulla reception was bad!!! Have a mobile broadband plan and will NEVER get to use my download limit as I am lucky if the Google homepage loads in less than 10 minutes! I am frustrated with having to pay my monthly plan to simply and completely frustrate me when I try to use it! every time we try to download something from i-tunes, it cuts out due to loss of connectivity. All in all not a very good experience so far!

Hi Burgo0409,
It certainly does sound like you've not been having a good experience. Good news is that there is things we can do to troubleshoot and attempt to resolve it for you.
So I can gain a better understanding of your situation, can I get you to head over to a thread by our Community Manager Tim_H and paste the results of Part III of our troubleshooting guide as a reply here. You can find that thread here.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks, Bart.

NOTE: There's a broken link to the Sharing Dock page in Kate's post. Here's the correct link
