The SSID is simply an identifier - a name - it could be 'Elvis', 'dragon' or '12345'.

What kind of wireless broadband device do you have - a usb stick, or a pocket wifi router?

If it's a pocket wifi, the default SSID and password are printed on a label on the inside of the back cover.  You can change either or both of them.

If you've got a usb stick modem, then you'll need a wifi router such as a R101 sharing dock or a 3G router from TP-Link, Netcomm and D-Link, etc.  Here's a list of some. Put your stick into the 3G router then set up the wifi, including SSID and password.  Finally, configure the xbox 360 to connect to the network.

This quick start guide for a typical 3G router (a Netcomm 3G17Wn) should give you the idea:

Let me know more details about your setup.

Hey dragonson,

As Peter mentioned, you'll need some sort of wireless device to help connect your Xbox to your mobile broadband. As an alternative to the Sharing Dock, you may also like to look at one of our Pocket WiFi devices.

Before looking at upgrading to the Pocket WiFi, I'd suggest checking our Coverage Map to make sure your area is covered by our 850 network, as that will ensure the best performance using the Pocket WiFi.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers,

Nick
