I have a Nokia E71 handset, a Mobile Internet Classic Pack, I have installed the Skype on Vodafone app, and I have a 3G connection, but when I start the Skype app I get the following message:
You need to sign up before you can use Skype.
How do I fix this?
Thanks,
Steven.

Do you have a Skype account? That's what you need before you can use it, even though Skype to Skype calls are free. Also, the Vodafone Skype app won't work on wifi, only via the (3G) network.

Yes, I have a Skype account and I was using the 3G network. When the message I mentioned comes up, there is also a menu option "Subscribe", and when I click on that, it opens up the browser to a page that says: "To start using Skype on Vodafone, you'll need to sign up to a pack ..."

OK, it sounds like a glitch in Vodafone's system if the Skype app isn't recognising the Classic pack on your account. How do you verify you've got the pack & that it's current - does it show up in My Vodafone? If you've followed all the stuff in the links below, you'll need one of the forum reps to access your account. That's way beyond my powers.

The pack shows up on my bill as "Mobile Internet Classic 8" and on My Vodafone as "Domestic Data Volume Anytime Bundle". How do I get a forum rep to access my account?

Hi Steven,
Peter is correct, it definitely sounds like the Skype app isn't recognising the Mobile Internet Classic Pack on your account. The good news is I can certainly take a further look into this for you and help have this issue resolved.
To do this I will need to take our conversation private, as I'll need to confirm some personal details to look into your account.
I've sent you a Private Message advising what information I'll need you to send me, you can access this here
Thanks,
Maddie

Hi Maddie,
I tried logging in to Skype at a different physical location and it worked. And then it started working at home as well. Thanks to you and Peter for your help.
Regards,
Steven.

Hey aliyevmr & limsw,
Thanks for letting me know about the trouble you are experiencing.
Just want to get you to check if your handset is one of our supported devices and run back through the setup of Skype on your handset.
Click Here to access the Skype on Vodafone information.
Please let me know how you go and if you could also please let me know what handsets you are currently using this will assist in the next step of resolving this for you.
