Hi, I just joined 59 dollars cap on 30th of July, and made couple of calls in July. Today, I just checked My Vodafone, and I was surprised that I have to pay 62 dollars for my bills for July. The calls I made in July, isn't it included in 59 dollars cap? I don't understand why my bill for july is like 62 dollars, it is more than 59 dollars which is my plan. that means I overused my phone. Plz advise me what it is.

Hi Juhan Park,

I'm glad to see you join us at Vodafone.

Okay, I understand your concern, and this is how it works. Vodafone has a set billing cycle, mine if I can remember correctly is on the 24th of each month. Vodafone usually takes a month in advance. So your first bill will always be higher than your monthly cap.

So let's just say, you billing cycle in on the 5th of each month, and you joined up on the 30th of July and your billing cycle is on the 5th of August, you will simply still have to pay for those few days till your next billing cycle commences.

So you might have been charged so $3 for those extra days and $59 in advance for the month of August.

Does this make sense? I hope it does.

If you have any more questions, then please do let us know. :smileyhappy:

p.s my first bill came close to $125 which freaked me out but when I called 1555 and had it explained to me it made a lot more sense and was actually spot on :smileyhappy:

itsmoe,
One Kudos(star) a day keeps the doctor away. :smileywink:

It looks like itsmoe has already answered your question really well, and he's spot on!

As this is your first bill with Vodafone, there will be a pro rata charge for your monthly plan fee because we charge them in advance. This means that there will be a part monthly charge from the day you connect, to the end of your billing cycle, plus one full month in advance. You will be able to see both charges and the dates that they are for, on the second page of your bill.

I've included a link to our support page for you, which has a great article about the pro-rata and your first bill. You can get to it by clicking here.

I've also included another link to our bill explainer, which will help you read through your bill and identify what each charge relates to. You can get to the bill explainer here.

Please let me know if there's anything else that I can help you with and if you have any other questions about your new service, you've come to the right place for an answer.

Cheers,

-Bruno.
