Why vodafone always deduct my bills with indistinct extra charges?

Message 1 of 6 (543 Views)

Yesterday I received a text message from AUVODAFONE, it says my vodafone bill is $88.83 for this month, I have checked my bill summary, my monthly plan is $49+5, and last month I added a mobile internet pack which is $ 20,so actually total is $74, I do not know why is $88.83. Why plus so much extra charges? Before this I have also met this situation several times , I have no idea where is the charges from? Please give me a reply.

This is something I can help you out with and I'll be happy to investigate these extra charges with you.

It's important to keep on top of your usage each month and this can be done by simply calling or sending a blank TXT to 1512, as this will give you give a brief summary of your remaining allowances for the current month, plus your total outstanding account balance.

It does not give detailed usage information, however you can check this through My Vodafone and therefore you'll be able to see exactly how you've gone over your plan (eg- data or call charges). We have a great online page advising how to view your usage details through My Vodafone here.

Plans include exclusions, that won't be included in your monthly minimum spend and it may be that the extra charges are made up of this kind of usage. Once you've checked your My Vodafone account, it would be great if you could please let me know; what are the extra charges for?

Once I know this information I'll be able to help you with some more specific information and the next course of action.

Thanks,
Maddie

Hi water_224,

Thanks for the providing the charges showing on your bill.

The first charge that you are unsure of falls under Part Month Plans and Services. The charge $13.49 (pre GST) is a pro rata charge and this may have incurred if you added the Mobile Internet Pack to your service part way through your billing month.

The second charge is for your Mobile Payment Plan. This is the monthly $5 handset repayment for your mobile phone.

We have a great Bill Explainer page which you can view here. The "Bill Summary" Tab will let you know what the sections on your bill are for and what the charges are for.

Thanks,

Cait

But the problem is that The mobile Internet plan is for one month, right? So it should start form Aug15th to Sep 15th. And I have cancelled this plan before that date on Sep 13th. I am just wondering that if vodafone will settle the accounts on the new month of my contract plan?

Thanks

The mobile internet packs are indeed measured on a monthly basis. To ensure that this fits neatly with your bills and doesn't combine with the existing data on your account in confusing ways, the dates are matched with your monthly bill cycle.

You'll notice on your bill that the data pack is charged in two parts. One is for the period of the 15th of August to the 6th of September, and charges for the percentage of the month that you had the pack active. The second part is a single month in advance, and this is taken into account when the pack is removed. The removal of the pack during this months billing cycle will be reflected on your next bill.

Does that help clarify things? The pack needs to match with the billing cycle for the account it's on, but we trim the cost to make sure you're only paying for  the time you have the extra service.

Thanks,

Jerome
