I currently am on a plan for 24 months with a Nokia X6 at $29 per month. I want to upgrade my phone to the Samsung Galaxy 2 on either the $29 cap (+$20 per month for handset) or the $49 cap (+$5 per month for handset). My contract started last September so it still has a year to go, how can I go about upgrading to this phone?

Hi benlay,
Thank you for your post, it’s lovely to see your interest in the Samsung Galaxy II, they are very popular!
In regards to your upgrade question you have a couple of options; I will run you through them ![]()
The cheapest option in this situation would be to wait until your contract is finished to upgrade, however as your contract is only half way through there are a couple of other options.
Firstly if you are able to upgrade early, in this instance early upgrade fees will apply. These can be calculated by multiplying your accounts access fee by the remaining months in contract.
The other option is to add a mobile payment plan (MPP) to your current plan. You are able to add a second MPP 3 months into your contract, so you will be able to do this. You MPP can be paid over 6 months or the remaining 12 months of your contract.
If you would like to proceed with any of these option please let me know and I can help organise it for you.
Thank you again for your inquiry, I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Jen.

How much would the MPP be over 12 months?
Hi Benlay,
The MPP for the Samsung Galaxy S 2 will be around $70 per month over 12 months. We work out this price by taking the full purchase price of the handset and dividing it by 12 (split over 12 months). As the MPP will not be linked to a plan, you will essentially be purchasing the handset via a separate commitment.
Please note that adding an MPP is subject to credit criteria. If you would to add the MPP or discuss further options (as it may work out cheaper for you to upgrade early) please let me know and I'll see what we can do for you
Thanks,
Cait
