Hi there,
Quick question - if you port from prepaid to postpaid within Vodafone (i.e. you were on a prepaid Vodafone plan and are moving onto a Vodafone contract), do you lose your existing prepaid credit?
(I would prefer to port now rather than wait until my credit is used up).

Thanks for your post, I hope you are having a lovely weekend
When you transfer your prepaid number onto a postpaid account you do lose any credits and entitlements. Because of this, I would recommend organising your new contract and number transfer as close to the expiry date of your last recharge as possible.

Hi Gemma,
Thanks for your response. I actually already have a new iPhone 4S handset through Vodafone, on contract - I ordered it online and received it just the other day (as yet it's still unused as I'm still on my old mobile / old prepaid account).
I just spoke with your call centre and asked them to transfer my number across, the gentleman I spoke with indicated that he had done this and that the transfer would take effect shortly - but there were a few communication issues and I am unsure if he understood my request. I'm concerned that he may have just changed my prepaid account to a postpaid account rather than transferring my number to my existing Vodaphone contract. The call cut out before I could clarify this with him. Can you please check this for me? [personal detail removed]
