Hey all,
I ordered a Samsung Galaxy S 2 on a $65 Infinite plan online on saturday evening (30/7) and recieved my phone on thursday (4/7). Ever since I put the SIM in the phone, it has never once displayed the '3G' symbol in the status bar, and only rarely displays the 'H' one everywhere I go; home, school and work. I looked at the coverage map and it says I should have full 3G almost all the time, but I haven't had it once. I'm honestly quite shocked about this, as I'm paying for a high priced plan and I was expecting a little more. Its actually gotten to the point where the only place I can download apps, games, get my emails and browes facebook is at home when connected to my wi-fi netwrok. Any help is appreciated,
Joel

This is nothing new. It would probably be best to state where you are located.
I am located on the Tweed/Coolangatta border and have had years of dropping signal with 3 phones. In April l was told that a new 850 transmitter was soon to be operational, it still isn't. Vodafone has however reduced charges on my plan for some months now so l would be contacting them to ask the same and get an ETA on improved network coverage. GL with that though.

Hi Joel,
Thank you for your post, I can absolutely help out.
It’s wonderful to hear that you have received your Samsung Galaxy S II so quickly, are you enjoying the new handset? I hope so!
In regards to your reception, ‘H’ actually stands for HSPA which is actually part of the 3G network. My own Pocket WiFI 2 often shows the ‘H’ symbol and functions well whilst showing it.
If you are having difficulties downloading apps, games, getting your emails and browsing Facebook in most locations it certainly indicates an issue which we should investigate further for you.
You have mentioned that you are thinking of going to the TIO straight away, I would very much like the opportunity to resolve this with you first.
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps previously to help isolate this issue? If so, what steps have you taken? This will make sure that I do not repeat any of the steps you have already done.
If you have not tried any troubleshooting in the past I have included a below a link to our handy online troubleshooting guide which is in four parts, please click here for part 1.
If you can please let me know this information I would be happy to investigate this further for you and work with you to find an appropriate resolution.
Regards,
Jen.

Hi imagenesis,
Thank you for your post and for advising Joel to state his location, this is a great help! ![]()
It’s unfortunate to hear about your recent experience; however it’s good that you have found a resolution why the upgrades in your area are completed.
If you would like to keep an eye on your area and its planned and completed upgrades I would recommend keeping our Network upgrades page close, it can be found here.
Thank you again for your contribution and help.
Regards,
Jen.
