Closing my contract account from overseas

Hi there,

 

I have moved overseas, and no longer require my Vodafone account in Australia.  I am now out of contract, and own my phone outright.

 

What do I need to do to get my account closed please?

Hi stevepegg,

I can assist with cancelling your service!

Do you wish to keep access to the mobile number attached to the service? If so you will need to organise to have this number ported to a new provider, or alternately I can assist with transferring the number to a prepaid service to keep it active while you are overseas. Both of these options will automatically cancel your current Vodafone contract.

If you don't wish to use the mobile number in future I can organise to have the service cancelled for you. If you would like me to do this I will need you to email me your account details so I can view your service details.

Hi there,

 

I have moved from Australia to overseas, and no longer require my Vodafone account in Australia.  I won't come back in Australia soon so I would like to close my account at the end of this month period (the 9th of january) because I still need to use my phone until there.

I want to do it online because I'm no longer in Australia.

Hi Augustin,

 

Where have you moved to?  It sounds exciting and a big move to make.

 

Before I get some contact details to you to action the disconnection can I just ask whether the phone is out of contract?  If it's not and I do disconnect it then you may receive Early Termination Fee's that will need to be paid.  Also you will lose the number once it is terminated and if you are out of contract and wish to keep the number when you return to Australia I can organise it to go onto a prepaid account.

I have now moved to France for a long time and I won't come back in Australia soon.

I don't know if the contract is terminated or not but I won't need this number anymore.

 

Can you organise the disconnection for me please?

I need to close the account from overseas.

I called the number that vodafone service told me to be free from every part of the world: I lost € 20, I didn't manage to speak with anyone and my account is still active.

Can anyone help me?

I have returned to Spain after 6 months in Australia, where I still have a postpaid contract with Vodafone. Could someone help me in order to terminate the contract?

Hi Gabriel,

 

 Did you enjoy your time in Australia? I've never been to Spain - where is your hometown? The whole country looks exciting and exotic!!

 

I can definitely help terminate your contract. Is your postpaid contract with Vodafone a monthly to month plan? If it is, there will be no early termination fees when you terminate the contract. If your number is still in contract, the early exit fee you will be charged is your monthly access fee x the months remaining in your contract.

 

If you're on a $29 plan, with four months remaining in your contract, for example, the termination fee will be 4 x $29 = $116. This is an example only, and your actual termination fee will depend on your own situation.

 

Are you planning to come back to Australia within the next 12 months? If you'd like to keep you number so you can use it when you come back, I can transfer the number to prepay, rather than disconnecting it. You will need to recharge the number at least once every 12 months to keep the number active. You can recharge online here.

 

If you would like to transfer the number to prepay, you might like to consider our 365 day option - it gives you a full 365 days to use the credit on your account. You can read our full list of recharge options here, though.
