hi i have a difrint type of problem. my nokia n8 is locked with a lock code enter it wrong 5 times then wait 5min to try again its been 2 weeks now that i am trying to get help but there have bean no victorys what so ever. im realy desprit at this point. the n8 does not whant to conect to the pc i cant get to anything on the cell i only get to the key pad that asks for the lock code. plz anybody that can help...

I apologise about the delayed reply.
When you enter an unlock code incorrectly 3 times, your Nokia will permanently block and will need to be sent to our contact centre to be unblocked.
To confirm that your phone has been blocked, are you receiving any of the following error messages:
If you are receiving one of these errors, I'll need you to send your phone to us to be unblocked. I can arrange this for you via email, so I have sent you a private message containing my contact details and information I'll need from you. You can access your private messages by clicking the small envelope on the top right hand side of the screen, or by clicking this link.
Please be aware I will not be able to provide any help and support via private messages, and I'll wait for your email or reply via the Community.

Just to confirm, are you using a Nokia? When the "Not Allowed" message is displayed on your phone, this generally means the unlocking code has been entered incorrectly 3 times and the phone has been blocked.
You will not be able to unblock your Nokia yourself, and you will need to send the Nokia to us to be unblocked. Please send your phone to the following address.

It is also really important that you include your full name, your address, your account number, and your best contact number when sending your device to us.
We advise that you send your phone via registered post so that we are able to track it if it has not been received. On the return package there will be a yellow sticker with a tracking number on it. Please keep this somewhere safe, as you'll required the number printed to track the order.

Hi there,
I am trying to unlock a Nokia N8 that i've got using the vodafone unlocking service as provided on your website, everything was ok entered in the IMEI number after checking vigorously that each number was correct and then Ifollowed the instructions, and it didn't work. The first time I did it , i got "CODE ERROR". so i tried it a second time I did it triple checked the code provided was what I typed in, got the "CODE ERROR" again. I've submitted two of the difficulties with unlocking the handset that was provided at the unlocking instructions screen and also i called the first time for help but still i haven't heard any reply. Could someone please help me with getting a new unlock code, as i want to use this phone for work.
Your help would be greatly appreciated !

You've certainly followed the correct steps thus far and I'll help you with unlocking your device.
How long ago did you submit the difficulties forms? Our handset unlocking team generally get back to customers within four working days, providing individuals with new codes, once investigations are complete.
I would like to take a closer look into this for you to see exactly what's happening. To do this I'll need to move our conversation to email, as before accessing your account I'll need to confirm some personal details with you and this information can't be shared publicly.

I am also having a problem with unlocking Nokia N8. The solution they ended up giving me after many, many attempts was 'that they would send me a Nokia C2-01 (cheap, cheap phone) and that I need to send MY phone back to them so that they can dispose of the N8. I own this phone after my contract ended, so why should I send it back to them. I know I cannot use it the way it is, BUT it is my phone.

We want you to be able to keep your N8 and use it how you want to! Can you let us know what error message you're getting when you enter the unlocking code?
If you've been asked to send the phone back to us then it probably means the phone has been blocked so we'll get it unblocked and send it back to you. Once we know the message you're getting we can let you know.
