I've been curious for sometime, but finally decided to ask.

Is the Xperia Z waterproof feature covered under warranty? Let's say the seal compartment gets damaged or let's particles of water get through and the phone stops working. What happens then?

Like a submarine it's not immune to water, it's dust and water resistant up to one metre for up to 30 minutes. If it does manage to get water inside, it's won't be covered by warranty.

Really?

The phones biggest selling point is basically the waterproof feature. Sony advertised washing the phone after a paint festival and in a shower. Kieran also dunked it in a fish bowl and in a glass of beer.

If I attempt to reenact these examples, assuming the compartments are closed and the phone gets damaged I won't be able to claim it under warranty?
