Wow! Awesome responses guys!

I think I'll try a few out over the weekend :smileyhappy:

I downloaded Zedge yesterday (thanks LORD-SHOKK and LS18), awesome little app, makes customisation very easy.

Keep the ideas coming!

Cheers, Bart.

Some of the apps I use regularly:

DeskNotifier: Sends your notifications to your desktop. Very handy for those who are at computers for a long time

DoubleTwist: The double twist player for pc copies your itunes library and playlists and allows you to sync it with your android phone :smileyvery-happy:

Go Launcher (for gingerbread phones): Customisation is incredible and it is faster than the sense launcher

Apex Launcher (For ICS phones): Great home launcher replacement

Desktop Visualiser: Good for more intense customisation lol

Minimalistic text: Text based widgets such as for the time. eg. sevenFORTYnine

Overskreen, Opera and Chrome: 3 browsers each with specific benefits

Solid Explorer: My personal favourite file explorer

Switchpro widget: On screen toggle switches

Vidcon: My girlfriend has an iphone and vidcon very quickly converts the iphone videos to mp4 format

Went with a Galaxy Nexus :smileyhappy: I had the Nexus One when it was first released, so I felt the need to get the latest and greatest in the series.

I chose it before the Galaxy SIII was announced, not sure if I should have waited!

Loving the large screen, overall speed seems very good as well. Just trying out GO Launcher at the moment, but all the great visuals seem to be taking their toll on my battery life (Although I do love the changes)

I'd be very keen to try out a One X or Galaxy SIII for a week or so, but overall very happy with the Galaxy Nexus.

Cheers, Bart.

hahah, just as i get the email notification of this im sitting here playing with  go sms, you can really get lost in the DIY theme setup..... i think i might just switch back to one of the default themes for the time being. I gotta get more rennos done!!!

I really do love how you can move the icon bar down the bottom in the launcher and add up to 3 rows of horizontal scrolling icons: thats sold me over touchwiz on sgs 2. As for the battery life  initially it was a bit worse but i havent noticed too much difference since i allowed go launcher to control everything you want it to when android asks. This seemed to make battery life better for me....

Once you use it for a while you go back to the default samsung layout and its soooo bland you kind of cant wait to launch go again.

I had really bad battery life with Go Launcher. To the point that I cant use it, I had a few friends use Go Launcher too and they put up with the battery life issue. But I couldnt even get through the day.

Hmm yeah im getting ok results but i am going to monitor it a bit more before i fully commit myself, nice to see they regularly update it thou.

Go sms is a bit buggy at times, It would be nice thou if theyd let you customise touchwiz more...

Yea I prefer Go to TouchWiz, far and away, but the battery annoys me too much.

Been using go launcher for years, I hate how touchwiz has to reload its self when closing some apps, just makes the SGS III look laggy.

Real Racing 2 is free in Samsung App store, it's an amazing game, played it for 2 hours last night and almost completely drained my battery :smileyvery-happy: But it's great if I want to show off the phone.

Now I'm looking for an app, over the years my Sd card has been in 4 android phones and it's basically full now of pictures and videos, all 32 gigs, anyone know of a app or computer program that can compress the pictures and videos optimally, especially the videos there huge. Then I can just copy them to my computer.

....go launcher is a go for me now. Im using it full time. Battery life is not an issue now... I bought the larger capacity one with the new back case. The only thing that annoys me is that go sms doesnt recognise merged contacts in my contacts list.
