To all android tablet experts, I am having this annoying problem with my 10.1v tablet. The tab randomly locks up regardless which apps I am using (getting used to it now). Reboot the tab is the only way to bring it back to life. Recently I have discovered something weird, which is the device memory usage, will jump from 500-600Mb to 5+Gb after reboot.
I tried to remove whatever app I was using when the tab freeze but the device memory usage stays the same - 5Gb+.
I can get the device memory back by resetting it back to the factory default. I already done so twice and it is happening again (3rd time). I installed ASTRO File Manager and browsed through all folders, checking for memory usage but I just can’t locate the missing device memory.
It is just too much to keep resetting back to factory default and set it up again and again. Can it be software or hardware issue, thoughts?
Yeah the Samsung 10.1V tends to load a lot of apps on start up so if you select them, they start faster.
More or less it is a software issue. The hope is that the 3.2 honeycomb update will fix most of the issues regarding the 10.1v. Apparently the update is approved however still waiting for it to be dispatched. long story short it is an issue that should have been fixed 6 months ago but only been gotten around to now.

I have spoken with our Specialist Technical team in regards to the issues you are experiencing with your Tab and they recommend factory restoring the device and then slowly and one at time installing your apps. They do not believe that the issue is a result of apps that come with the device software, instead they believe it to be caused by a third-party application. By installing the apps slowly and one at a time you should be able to pinpoint which one is causing the dramas.
Let me know how you go with the process and what the outcome is, both myself and other Community users, I'm sure, will be interested to know how you went.
