Hi - it doesn't matter.  Just let it charge to 100% if you can wait that long (new phone, eh?).

The manual says not to leave it charging for over a week!

Ensure maximum battery and charger life
Avoid charging batteries for more than a week, as overcharging may shorten battery life.

Hey,
So you mean just charge it till full?
And what do you mean the manual says don't leave it charging for over a week? Haha don't think I'll be leaving it for a week before use?
And yes brand new (:

For the first week however, charge it to full and let it run down to about 20% and then fully charge every day. It helps the software calibrate and you will see longer battery life.

Yep!  That's if you can wait that long.  I've read the manual and they don't give any particular advice, apart from not leaving it on charge for more than a week (!).

Batteries and charging methods are much better than they used to be.  You can put the phone back on the charger at any time, there's no need to wait till it's flat.

Looks like you've got all the info you need!

However one important point has been missed.......enjoy your new phone! (And make sure you let us know how you travel with it!)

Are you a first time Android user? I've just made the change from a windows phone myself :smileyhappy:

Cheers, Bart.

is this true?

There may have been 'battery memory' when people used alkaline batteries but the battery in an SGS II is NiMh which never develops any 'false empty' or 'false full' reports

This is to calibrate android, not because of the old memory thing. Android calibrates faster when you run it down a few times.
