Hi, I just updated my phone to the new Jelly bean, having a problem where the names are not showing up for call logs and SMS, same for incoming calls.

How do I fix this? Or who do I report this to?

Roll-out details

The update will be released to phones according to the following schedule:

• Day 1-3: 10,000 phones are selected at random to be eligible for update
• Day 4-13: An additional 10% of phones are selected at random per day
• Day 14: The update is now available to all users

You won't be able to update till Thursday at the earliest

Hi, I just updated my phone to the new Jelly bean  and its really buggy touch wiz keeps stopping and i can't sort out apps in a fold because of the touch wiz not responding i mean i like the update very much but its just to buggy to use when will there be fixs for this or an udated version which will be less buggy thankyou

Ok so youve updated, you also have some problems, 

Firstly did you do an OTA or Kies update?

Did you retain all youre apps before the update?

some things to try: 

Remove youre sd card by unmounting it in settings>storage>unmount SD card. Remove youre sd card completely and then restart youre handset... have a play around with youre screens once the phone has restarted. Any difference?

If there is id suggest revieving the contents of youre SD card. 

Some apps are not compatible with Jellybean and if still retained with the new installation there could be a confilict causing youre phone to go crazy. Cant be completely sure this is the cause of youre problem but its just a thought. 

All else failing after some mucking around:

Id suggest backing up youre phone next Via samsung kies, then maybe look at wiping youre phone starting again. 

This of course is a last resort but it may be youre only saviour if things are really buggy. Dont forget if you do this its important for you to log back in again using youre existing gmail account, not a new one.

followed these instructions now the only contacts I can see are those in my gmail account. I have contacts on the phone, the sim and gmail. Select the contacts to display and only the gmail ones appear (duplicated). Follow the google instructions to merge duplicated contacts, sync and back to the original problem with names not appearing in the phone log and when a call comes in. Not terribly happy about this, I thought this would have been one of the main things you would have tested. This and poor network connection at home is making me reconsider my shift to this company

Did you back up you're contact's via kies? I've had no such problems doing it that way. Seeing only you're gmail contact's suggests that you're phone contacts have not been reinstalled.

I have backed them up with kies but my contacts have always been on the phone, never on gmail. Currently have contacts physically on the phone, the sim and gmail. Contacts2Sim shows me the contacts on the phone and the sim, I can edit them making one unique and they dont appear in my gmail contacts or when I select "contacts to display" as either the phone or the sim. Actually the only display option that works is my gmail account. I think its very broken.
