Re: Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1v owners - We have news for you

Thought I'd advise that just received by 3.2.1 update.

It appears to be a worthwhile update as tablet experience is a lot smoother
and Storage use appears to be a lot better managed.

Does anyone know of a Dialler App that works ,
like 7.7 the10.1V was supposed to support Phone/text but Android 3.0.1 did not

Hi guys,

Thanks for taking the brunt of peoples frustration Tim.

Just wondering at what time/date all 10.1v's should expect to have access to the update? I'm still yet to get the update :smileysad:

Thanks

Regarding USB host support, I'm afraid there is nothing further to pursue. We have directly engaged Samsung and confirmed the drivers are not present in the device, but will appear in a future update. The Android features available in 3.2 doesn't necessarily mean they will appear on a specific device. And we have removed the incorretc reference to USB host support from our support articles and blog relating to the update.

they have to be ABSOLUTELY sure what they are talking about, because in my opinion usb host "driver" is there (in kernel):

in framework we miss usbhost support. correct me if I am wrong

so please, no more lies. take it to your "testing team" again, and let them investigate what's wrong

Well I got my update now as well....hooray! It is surprising that after all the months of waiting, delay after delay, the "extensive" testing testing at Vodafone, the hundreds of pages of documentation that accompanied that testing, regardless of whether or not Samsung chose not to include USB host support in this update, not once did anyone involved with the testing at Vodafone managed to pick up on the fact that such a key and highly anticipated feature was missing.....how does that happen?

I'm just wondering how is it possible that something was tested for so long and no one picked up that advertised feature (USB host) doesn't work.

shame about the usb host but the bluebooth keyboard works a lot better now.

the whole tab seems to have been given a kick and runs much more smoothly.

glad for this and any future updates.

Hi,

I just have signed, to ask two questions while waiting for the update.

I am interested in GPS, is it definite that after the 3.2.1 update the GPS receiver of my 10.1v Tab will not function at all ? And if so is it possible if I don't like the update to bring the tab status back as it was before ?

Thank you in advance

Costas

My GPS works just fine, i did post about installing a SAT NAV program onto the 10.1 v after my tab updated to 3.2.1

The GPS picked up the satalites, while i was sat inside at home. Something that my HTC Desire phone fails to do.

I am sure we are all experiancing different things, depending on what we want our  tablets to do after the update. For me, yes i would like tethering and usb support to work. Just because it should not because i want it. So far the update has breathed a little new life into my tab.

So thanks for Tim and the team for batting for us, when VF UK, has done diddly squat support wise.

Can only hope Samsung still give us some kind of support in the future, and does not finally flush the 10.1v down the toilet.
