Re: Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1v owners - We have news for you

By the way if your tower construction is complete why did two separate calls to your call centres tell me that it would not be complete for 3 months and that is why they gave me a (alleged) discount on my cap for 3 months only because the tower upgrade would be complete by the end of June.  Yet you tell me it is complete.  I don't doubt your advice but it would have been a useful piece of troubleshooting to rule out the towers and focus on my galaxy tab.

Dude, complain about the towers in your own thread/topic. It does not relate to the update of the 10.1V

That's not true, you have a PM from James sent at 4:43pm yesterday, that's a fair few hours before your post. And the message has been read.

But if you've forgotten how to get there, you can access your PM's from this link. :smileyhappy:

Thanks

I 100% agree with will89. The purpose of this thread is to discuss the 10.1v update.

Tim, we're all a bit stuck here and my feeling is that you have without question gone through the process of finding out more around when the update will be fixed, so asking you to repeat what you have already done is a waste of time.

Considering how long this has already taken, along with the fact that this update is a lot more to everyone than just providing additional functionality (it actually is needed to help fix a lot of bugs that cause apps to continually crash), i'm wondering if there's opportunity to escalate and get someone higher in Vodafone to drive the resolution of this. I have no idea of the process between Google, the telco, and the manufacturer, but if the other countries are having issues with config of the deployment, it would be good to see an Aus only release while these issues are being resolved.

Fingers crossed we see an update shortly - Scott

Tim-Given you used an acronym PM which I was not familiarI was expecting an email with a personal message. I did find the message on this forum after my post, as you note it has now been read but I do take exception to your terminology about truth - as there is a strong implication in what you have publicly posted that I lied.

Hi Nibbsy,

That was't my intention at all, I'd assumed you'd stumbled onto the PM's after your message and had now emailed in.

I'll edit the post momentarily to reflect that, my apologies for any confusion.

And glad to see you have your PM now :smileyhappy:

Thanks

Hi Guys,

I've just received a new message about the 10.1v:

Status: Approved. Roll-out planned for week of 16th April with updated FOTA message (including size display). Roll-out was delayed by one week due to configuration issue.

I'll share anything further as soon as I lay hands on it.

Thanks

Tim

After months monitoring this thread. Finally, the update is about to float above the water. Thanks for the update, Tim! One more question, is there any possibility for 10.1v to get ICS update?

In what timezone does the sender of that message reside?  If it's google time we won't see the update until at least tomorrow.

OUT OF CONTRACT NOW - BYE BYE VODAFONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My contract has ended, device is paid up and don't need VF access anymore. Wish I could get rid of the device though, but who would want it right?

What an experience this has been. Been following this thread since the beginning and I had several posts deleted for "breaching community guidelines" HA! Sorry for telling the truth.

What an unmitigated screw up ths whole product and support has been for VF. The decent thing would have been to do a recall but VF has shown zero integrity and care for its customers. I will never, ever, ever use vodafone again. I will always advice anyone I happen to be talking to about telco stuff to never use VF. I have a wife and 5 kids who will never use a VF service. You, VF have lost way more $ than it would have cost to do a recall.

You cannot continue to blame Samsung / Google - you, VF, sold the device. You, VF, are responsible.

Did I mention that I will NEVER use VF again?

Bye.
