Phone servicing and repair

Message 1 of 6 (426 Views)

I called up Vodafone last Thursday regarding issues with my phone:

1. I have been trying to update the software which Vodafone Australia had released for Galaxy S in July but to no avail even after uninstalling and re-installing Samsung Kies.

2. Usually I'd charge my phone before I head to bed and use it as an alarm. Last Wednesday night, for some unknown reason, my phone battery died overnight and I basically ended up very late for a presentation.

3. These were just some of the issues that I faced recently, in the past I had my screen flickering for a few minutes and sometimes my phone would restart on its own, I just haven't been bothered to do anything about it.

The response I got was to troubleshoot my phone with the steps that was sent to me via a text and regarding the software udpate which WAS released by Vodafone Australia I was re-directed to the Samsung hotline.

Samsung dude - asked if I had tried calling up Vodafone and I mentioned I did - so basically it's kinda like I have been just 'pushed around here and there' with no practical solutions. Samsung dude mentioned that if after uninstalling and reinstalling Samsung Kies, and the update still doesn't work because it doesn't recognize my phone I should send it for  repairs.

I filled in an online form last Thursday after the call for service and repair for my phone as it is still under warranty but I didn't take down the reference number and was expecting an email or something from Vodafone to confirm they have received my form so that I could bring my phone in to one of the stores to send in for repairs but have not heard back since.

Could someone kindly please help me out here.

Thanks

Hey there Gggnef,

If you have time to pop in to a store with your proof purchase, they can send it to repairs from there.

Or you can wait for one of the team members to assist you further. Ultimately, you will need to pop in to a store to hand in your handset for repair.

Okay - Yeah. I was thinking of doing that but was just waiting for a reply just to ensure that they have received my online form.

It definitley sounds like there is a few gremlins with your handset and popping it in for repair is certainly the best stpe to take get this resolved for you.

It's great to hear that you used our online repair service and this will save you some time when you pop into a store to hand over your phone to be sent to the service centre.  Even though you don't have the reference number that was given when you booked it in, the store should be able to look it up for you or alternatively they will fill in some new paperwork for you.

As Ahmato has advised getting into the store would be best and we can get the phone sent in and fixed for you.  If you'd like to know the nearest locaton of a Vodafone store, you can find it through this link

Let me know how you go or if I can help you any further.

Cheers,

Dana.
