Hi,
I've had my HTC Desire HD for about 10 months now with Vodafone. My best mate has the same phone as me, also through Vodafone, and in the last few months he has received 2 software updates. he is currently on 2.3.3 (I think) while I am still on 2.2.
I have not received any notifications automatically.
I have tried to "Check Now" for system software updates in "Settings" and I keep getting this message: "There are no updates available for your phone".
Any ideas??
Thanks.

Hi fuzzpaul,
Thanks for your post, I am more than happy to help out as we want you up to date ![]()
When you check this through the computer program for updates and it advises "There are no updates available for your phone" it may indicate that the program itself needs updating. I would recommend downloading the latest version of this program, which in turn will be aware of the new phone update and advise you so.
If you have any further issues please feel free to ask.
Regards,
Jen.

Hi Jen,
Thanks for replying so quickly. Your suggestion hasn't worked because I'm checking for updates through the phone, not through a computer program.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Thanks for letting me know this information, it’s really appreciated.
Firstly I think it’s important to find out if your HTC Desire HD is a Vodafone branded handset, this is not branded onto the actual handset, however you will be able to identify the handset as Vodafone when you turn it on, when it runs through the start up sequence it will show a giant Vodafone logo ![]()
You will also be able to see the Vodafone Live icon on the screen of your handset once it’s turned on. Is you handset a Vodafone handset?
Also you are able to use a desktop client to check for any updates, this is available from the HTC website and is called HTC Sync found here. When you do this you will need to select ‘USB debugging’ on your handset so that the handset recognises the desktop client and can function correctly for you.
From there I would recommend doing a full back up of all your information and data so you are able to wipe and restore the handset. This is a full factory reset and not just a data clear so will erase everything on your device, which is why is very important to back everything up first!
If your device is in fact a Vodafone handset and there is been no improvement after trying these methods I would then recommend taking your device into your closest Vodafone store or repairs centre for assessment and repair if necessary.
If you have any further questions please feel free to let me know Paul ![]()
Regards,
Jen.
