Thanks Charlotte.
If that fails, what would be the next step?
Hi Daver6,
Completing a factory reset will eliminate some issues and depending on what the outcome is it this will help us to decide what the next steps are. When you completed the factory reset did you notice any changes?
There's no need to take it into a Vodafone store as yet before we can isolate the issue however of course you can take it in if you'd like.
Please let me know.
Thanks.
Charlotte

Finally got the time for a factory reset. The problem still persists though.
Any apps that have shortcuts on home screen, lose their text underneath the icon after a reboot.
I notice I'm not the only one who has this problem. Others have reported it on the UK Vodafone forum.
Now what do I do to resolve this bug?

Thanks for giving the factory reset a go.
At this stage it seems that there isn't any obvious cause for the issue you're having. As LORD-SHOKK suggested, your best bet now is to take the phone to a Vodafone store where it can be assessed for repair.
To ensure that your phone is out of action for as little time as possible, I'd suggest booking in online. This will let us know you're coming and make the process as smooth as possible. You can use our handy Store Locator to find your nearest Vodafone store.
Let us know how you go.
Cheers,
Nick

The site to book in consistantly suggest my IMEI number is invalid.
Also, can I take it to any Vodafone store or does it need to go to a service centre?
Is there any chance just getting it swapped out for a non-faulty phone?

You can take the device into any Vodafone store.
We will look at the device and if it is unable to be repaired the store will look into a handset change.
Let us know how you go with taking it into a store.
Thanks,

Thanks. I'll do it later this week.
I'm still pretty convinced the issue is related to the 1.28 update though. Prior to that, the issue did not exist.

Possibly.
Anyway, went into the Subiaco Vodafone store today. They wanted to send my phone away to be looked at. They also found out a 1.29 release us due out on Friday. So will wait fdor that and see if that update resolves the issue.
If the 1.28 install went wrong...is there anyway to re-apply it?
