ICS on S2 Web page autofit doesn't work

Hi ICS support team.

Someone mentioned to me "Have you ticked “Auto-fit pages” in browser settings > advanced?"

The answer is yes, but it still doesn't work.

I would like to be able to zoom in on text of web pages, have the text autofit just like in Gingerbread. It is really good while reading on the train because I don't have to squint while reading.

I have a friend who has a Galaxy S2 phone too, we got them on the same day, when he upgraded to ICS he got the same issue.

What should I do next? Does this feature work for vodafone staff phones? Do I need to wait for a patch to arrive OTA?

I think this is more of a ICS and samsung issue, not the SG2. I tried the same thing with my galaxy note with ICS and it won't scale either.

Try double tapping the text you want to read?

Just played around with the settings on my ICS GS2, and having Auto fit checked does make some difference.

I went to www.abc.net.au and then to their "Just In" new section. The text lines appeared to be much shorter in different parts of the page, so that I could zoom in to a certain degree without needing to scroll sideways to read the whole line.

Another one I noticed in the browser settings under Accessability is "Force enable zoom". Not sure what this does, but it is unchecked on my phone.

Not an expert on web pages, but maybe it is down to the design of the individual website?

Hopefully  there is someone here that is more knowledgable than I am...

Forced enable zoom is for sites like facebook that don't normaly allow you to zoom. This feature overrides that.

To Do list for Friday 8 June

1. Get out of bed

2. Go to work

3. Learn something new about my phone

4. Knock off and go to the pub

Thanks for helping with #3 Will. Only one thing left to do for the day :-)

Cheers,
