How To Make My Number Private

by ShaquilleRayAu Visitor

Hi there.

I have an HTC Sensation XL and i was wondering how i can make my number private. I have looked in the manual and found no luck, And amazing Google couldn't help me so that means i'm stuck.

The only way i have found is to call Vodafone and get them to make it private.

Sadly i did this and the call "accidently" dropped out (even tho i had full reception) when the operating was looking for the information. :smileysad:

Hi - it's pretty easy to turn caller ID on or off with the Sensation XL.  Here's how:

http://ucms.vodafone.com.au/support/device-manuals?wm=man:4592,page:ins,ins:921984

The manual is a better guide - it's got pictures - but these are the steps:

All apps > settings > call > additional settings > caller ID
Turn your own caller identification on or off:
Press Network default, Hide number or Show number.

Please note: you can only hide your caller identification for voice calls. When you send text or picture messages, your phone number is always displayed.

Hi!

And could you guide me how can I turn off this function on my Blackberry 8520? I am struggling to dig it from the forum, but I am not able to find it.

Interestingly enough, I have this function automatically on only on Vodafone sim cards, without any clue how to turn it off. It is quite annoying when you call a friend and he doesn`t know who is calling.

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Thank you for your quick response. So the steps were the following:

1) Press the green butten;

2) Press the menu key-> Options -> Phone options.

But in my case, I would like it to be:

Restrict My Identity = Never,

since I want my number to be visible. Quite confusing but thank anyway!

You've definitely come to the right place to get your caller ID working. Most phones have a function in settings where you can turn your number display off, which will mean your number will come up as "private" or "blocked" when you make an outgoing call.

We have a great guide to most Samsung phones on our website here, just choose your phone, type "caller ID" into the search box, and click on the instructions to turn your caller ID off and on. I can also walk you through the steps - just let me know the model of the phone you're using, as well as your software version.

If you only wanted to make the odd call with your number as "private" rather than turning it off completely, you can do that by typing #31# in front of the number you want to call.

For example, if you wanted to call 0414141414 with your caller ID turned off, you can call #31#0414141414 and your number will show on the phone as "private" or "blocked".

Let me know if you have any questions about using the code, I'd love to help.

You should be able to make your number private from the call settings menu. You should be able to access it from the dealer, by pressing the menu button and pressing settings. It should be under advanced settings.
