HTC Legend - No MMS

[ Edited ]
Message 1 of 5 (3,703 Views)

Hi Guys,

First up, thank you for being awesome enough to swap my Nokia phone for a better one! This HTC is the best phone I've ever owned since my 5110 back in 2000 and I've had a few! Nokia seems to have gotten bad over the years.... :smileyindifferent:

Down to business... My problem is I've been unable to send MMS from my HTC, and in the APN screen I dont get the green dot next to the VF AU PXT access point, just the one next to VF Live. My understanding is that this means the setting are not correct on the VF AU PXT access point (according to the guys at HTC and the many forums that have covered this issue.

My settings in the VF AU PXT match the ones you have on your support site, and I haven't touched them, but it seems like all my MMS just end up 'Pending' all the time and never send.

Here are my VF AU PXT access point settings off my phone (exactly the same as the ones on your support site)

Vodafone – MMS
Name:
VF AU PXT
APN: live.vodafone.com
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://pxt.vodafone.net.au/pxtsend
MMS Proxy: 010.202.002.060
MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 505
MNC: 03
APN Type: mms

Running Android 2.2

Any help you could offer would be fantastic! (I'm kinda sick of talking to people in India, none of whom seem to be able to speak English well enough to fault find a simple issue like this) :smileymad:

By the way... WHY DO YOU MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS TALK TO PEOPLE WHO DONT SPEAK ENGLISH? ISN'T THAT A TAD NONSENSICAL? Just A thought...

Hi Jet,

Thanks for the comprehensive post! I'm glad to hear you're happy with your new phone - and happy to help work out why it won't send PXT!

It sounds like you've done a fair amount of the trouble shooting I would run you through - including downloading the settings from our website. Have you tried sending a PXT message to yourself? Does it send and deliver ok?

Thanks,

Kirsty.

Hi Andrew,

If you have not have attempted to configure your MMS settings you can do this by following the steps here. If you are still having issues sending an MMS from your phone after attempting the configuration, we suggest to back up your phone and try a full factory reset. Ensure that you have the latest software update installed to your phone.

If you do have the latest software update installed and attempted to configure your MMS settings, we suggest that you visit one of our stores. You may need to have you phone sent to the manufacture for repair.

Thanks,

Cait

Hi there,

My htc legend on vodafone has teh same very frustrating problem. I have reset the settings 6000 times, mms will work for a day or so then stop. My settings are perfect as per website, I cannot send mms to myself.

I have called vodafone at least 6 times and been to stores 3 times.

I do not know how to update firmware. I dont know how much of my data gets erased with a factory reset, i dont know how to do a factory reset.

Could you at support please spell out the steps for me now. Thanks, this is very frustrating as I spent a good amount of money to have access to this technology and I am spending time which I dont have to rectify.

I have been with vodafone for 15 years and have loved the service. Please dont fail me now

Cheers,

Cath
