Carrier IQ

Message 1 of 10 (882 Views)

Hi,

I was wondering if Vodafone could please respond, either here or to reporters calls to comment on the use of the Carrier IQ software.

I bring to attention the news story about this software. Specifically in the article, there are the words - Vodafone did not respond to requests for comment.

If VF use the software, i would like to know how to remove it from my phone ASAP please.

Vodafone you need to answer this right now. "Is Carrier IQ on any handsets in Australia" If you cannot Supply this information then we will take this as a yes and will need to return my handset and cancel my contract with you.

You need to realise this is a question that wiil not go away, we need an answer!!

I too found the same app (its just been updated) and it found nothing, which begs the question why did'nt Vodafone just say something.

For those who are looking for more information and an app that can detect it, please check this out -

I still agree with everyone here though that a response from Vodafone would have been much better.

Hi guys,

Apologies for not getting to you sooner around this. We understand this is something incredibly important to you.

To be clear on our response:

We do not use this technology on our customer networks in Australia, the UK or elsewhere. The protection of our customers' privacy is paramount and we have strict guidelines governing the technologies we deploy.

Again, my sincere apologies for not replying on Friday, I was away having wisdom teeth removed on short notice!

Thanks for asking though, it's great to see how many of you are keeping up to date with technology news. If there's anything else I can help with feel free to ask, but I think us not using this technology at all covers it :smileyhappy:
